90th Anniversary Kick-Off & Open House

When: Saturday, October 5, 11am – 3pm

Where: Music Conservatory of Westchester (216 Central Ave, White Plains, NY 10606)

The event will offer free demo classes and will showcase Conservatory student performances representing an array of musical genres, while sharing in the joy of making music for 90 years.

Hops & Harvest Benefit

When: Sunday, October 6, 3 – 6pm

Love good food, craft beer, and supporting the Nature Center? Then join us for our Hops & Harvest Benefit! Kick off the fall season by joining us on our Great Lawn and enjoy the breathtaking fall foliage as you sample food and drink from local artisan chefs, area wineries and breweries.

Great Chefs

When: October 7, 21, and 28

Where: Westchester Community College (75 Grasslands Road, Valhalla, NY 10595)

Great Chefs is a culinary & wine event series held at Westchester Community College. 100% of funds raised from the Series will benefit Westchester Community College Foundation’s scholarship fund and the On-Campus Food Pantry.

Apple Cidering

When: Monday, October 14, 1 – 2pm

Where: Greenburgh Nature Center (99 Dromore Rd, Scarsdale, NY 10583)

New York is the second-largest producer of apples in the country. In this seasonal program, children will use an old-fashioned screw press to make apple cider. Participants will also learn about the colonial experience of cider making and get a taste of fresh, tangy apple cider. Fun for all ages!
Fee: $5 for members, $8 for non-members

Halloween Window Painting

When: Sunday, October 20, 9am – 4pm

Where: Scarsdale Village

All families who reside in Scarsdale or have children who attend Scarsdale public or private schools are eligible to participate in window painting. There are no age limits. All participants will receive a ribbon upon completion of painting with a Halloween theme.

Festifall

When: Sunday, October 27, 11am – 3pm

Where: Greenburgh Nature Center (99 Dromore Rd, Scarsdale, NY 10583)

Crunching leaves and a crisp breeze will be the backdrop for this year’s fall festival celebration. Families can take part in an exciting scavenger hunt, play fun games, meet our animals, and enjoy live music by Native New Yorker Band. And be sure to come dressed for our costume parade!
Fee: Early Registration (before 10/27) $5 for members, $10 for non-members; Day of $8 for members, $15 for non-members

Great Jack O'Lantern Blaze

When: October 3 – 31

Where: Van Cortlandt Manor, Croton-on-Hudson

Meander through an 18th-century landscape and discover a breathtaking display of more than 7,000 illuminated jack o’lanterns—all designed and hand-carved on-site by a team of artisans!
