Armonk | Frosty the Snowman - Steve Nelson

We know what you're thinking: how cliche. Not in Armonk!  North Castle holds legitimate claim to the quintessential seasonal tune, written in 1950 by town resident Steve Nelson.  So big of deal, in fact, is Frosty in Armonk that it holds its own parade dedicated to it.

Beacon | Snow, Snow - Pete Seeger

Covers the station, covers the tracks, covers the town the man dubbed "America's tuning fork" called home. Despite his national fame, the folk hero was just another resident in the Hudson river town, a friendly and familiar face beloved by locals and passers-by.

Scarsdale | Christmas Dreaming - Al Jolson

A holiday tune that couldn't be more fitting for a dynamic community that embodies both diversity and tradition.  Al Jolson—the Anglicized "Asa Yoelson"—lived on Fenimore Road, and his harmonious voice, best accompanied by scratching turntable needles beside a toasty fireplace, pairs perfectly with the vintage of the town's sought after pre-war housing stock.  (The writer will be spinning his great-grandmother's 78 Jolson singles, enjoyed for many years in the town's Green Knolls neighborhood, through the remainder of 2014).

Greenwich | Baby, It's Cold Outside - Zooey Deschanel and Leon Redbone

Yes—the version from Elf. A timeless tune that's hip, classy and always relevant. Much like the community, the essence stays the stays the same, but there's constantly new accompaniment to keep things fresh.

White Plains | What Are You Doing New Year's Eve? - Seth McFarlane

Versatile, confidently mainstream and always ready for good fun, from Mamaroneck Avenue to the Ritz. (We went with this year's trending version as the last one to go viral is Beacon Holiday Playlist Track 2).

Cold Spring | If We Make It Through December - Merle Haggard

The tune, not the message.  Rough and ready, it spins just as well by a campfire as a classy party and has something for everyone.

Katonah | Christmas Lights - Coldplay

Lively, colorfully eclectic and appealing to both the mainstream and indie-minded. Frontman Chris Martin's in-laws were longtime lakefront residents of nearby Waccabuc.

North Salem | Jingle Bells - Everyone

We confess, this one is cliche—but it couldn't be more right. From Keeler Ridge to grand gilded-age manses of Grant's Corners to trotting horses dancing shoeprints into the snow in the stables all up the 121 corridor, just try keeping it out of your head driving down June Road.

Yorktown | The Most Wonderful Time of The Year - Andy Williams

Have you driven through Yorktown or Mahopac lately? These are communities that go all out with holiday lights. The association is self-explanatory.
