E.B. White once said "a cracked pot is more interesting than a whole one." Of course, the only cracks here are figurative—and by that, we're referring to the proverbial box designer Alexander Gorlin shattered to think outside in crafting a brilliant architectural amalgam proving the adage so remarkably true. Nested above its own private lake, Spruce Hill is a magnificent study in modernism challenging tradition by the square foot, proving eclecticism and luxury are hardly mutually exclusive. Sleek modernist spaces juxtapose Mediterranean hand-painted ceilings, rare rosewood cabinetry and exposed brick. A sweeping lawn rolls gently to a cabana rowboat dock with Venetian gondolier mooring poles, complete with power and boat storage, while a historic red windmill spies from a distance (and yes, said Moulin Rouge is indeed included).
