Houlihan Lawrence donations exceeded $88,000 this year for the American Cancer Society’s annual Westchester Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walk. The corporate sponsorship, coupled with $68,753 in fundraising, made the combined amount the largest single donation for any 2015 sponsor.
Over 100 participants from Houlihan Lawrence braved the brisk, winter-like Sunday morning of October 18 for the 5 mile walk at Manhattanville College. The Bedford brokerage held the distinction as highest contributing office team, single-handedly rallying $17,000; Rye's team followed in second with $13,805.
2015 marked HL's 16th year of participation in Making Strides, along with more than 30 years of Support Connection (Yorktown) and 10 years for Miles of Hope (Dutchess County). Walkers wore t-shirts designed by Art Director Liz Battista of our marketing department, who participated in the walk with the team who supported her through her treatments this year—a true inspiration to us all.
According to American Cancer Society, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer walks represent the largest network of breast cancer awareness events in the nation, uniting nearly 300 communities with a shared determination to finish the fight. We're looking forward to another record-breaking year in 2016!
