Not even Hurricane Sandy could stop hundreds of community members from packing into the Westchester County Center last night for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s annual Light The Night Walk.
The event, which was hosted at Rye Playland last year, was postponed due to destruction caused by Hurricane Sandy and moved last minute to the County Center. This didn’t stop survivors and supporters from turning out in honor of those who are fighting or bravely fought a blood cancer. Funds raised from the event will go toward education, research and patient services.
Survivors, those representing a memory of a loved one, and supporters each took a lap around the County Center holding lighted balloons symbolizing hope and strength for blood cancer patients.
Houlihan Lawrence, which helped sponsor the event, will be fundraising online for LLS until January 31. Visit our team page to make a contribution.
