According to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), just 3 percent of patients faced with childhood leukemia survived 40 years ago. Because of the organization's work to fund blood cancer research and provide education and patient services, 90 percent of today's children survive leukemia.
Such breakthroughs are in large part due to the backing and support of the community, which is why LLS established its annual "Light the Night Walk" fundraiser. Each year, hundreds of communities across North America fill the dark sky with illuminated balloons to honor and commemorate survivors, supporters and loved ones lost to cancer.
Houlihan Lawrence is a proud sponsor of this fall's LLS Westchester/Hudson Valley Chapter's walk at Vassar College (10/19), Provident Bank Park (10/20), and Rye Playland (11/02). This year, our honored patient is agent Susy Glasgall of our Rye Brokerage.
Wife, mother, sister, daughter, friend, realtor, and gift-giver extraordinaire, Susy's love and concern for others is boundless and Houlihan Lawrence sends its love right back to her as we dedicate this year's Light the Night Walk to a fabulous friend and real estate agent currently directing her passion and bright light within to beat her most recent challenge.
