The single most important factor influencing a child's early educational success is an introduction to books, yet research has shown as many of 61% of low-income families have none in their household.
For another year, our 30 offices in New York and Connecticut are kicking off a company-wide book drive. Our primary benefactor this year will be Family Centers, a Greenwich-based multidisciplinary organization on a mission to empower communities by helping neighbors in need "obtain the tools needed to establish a strong educational foundation, overcome complex and critical problems, carry on healthy productive lives and achieve personal improvement." While some organizations resell or redistribute books, Family Centers will share collections with those in need right here in our region.
Help us ensure every child can bring home a book this holiday season. Titles for preschool to middle school-aged readers will be accepted at all Houlihan Lawrence offices north of New York City through November 30th. (You can find a list of them here).
