Big news in Bedford Village!  The Bedford Playhouse, northern Westchester’s exciting new arts, film, and events facility, announced today that legendary music producer Clive Davis (pictured above with Playhouse Founder John Farr and Playhouse Board Chair Sarah Long) has come onboard as a significant supporter of the transformation of the historic movie theater into vibrant, state-of-the-art cultural center.

The five-time Grammy award winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member's gift will establish the Clive Davis Arts Center at Bedford Playhouse. The Davis Center will encompass all the arts programming offered beyond film, including music performances, theater, art exhibitions, and stand-up comedy. As part of this gift, the forty-seat theater off the cafe on the first floor will be named “The Clive Davis Theater,” to be known as “The Clive." Davis, a longtime resident of Pound Ridge, says “I am thrilled to support the creation of the new Playhouse and its new Arts Center. I love this community, and I strongly endorse the expanded mission of the Playhouse. This all seems like a perfect fit, and I can hardly wait for it to open!”

As a founding donor, Houlihan Lawrence is thrilled to be part of this exciting new chapter for the Playhouse and for Bedford Village!

Wondering what else is new at the Playhouse?

    Opening Doors

The Playhouse, initially opened in 1947 and currently under extensive renovation,  plans a partial opening later this spring. This will involve operating just the downstairs portion of the new facility, including the main theater and concessions, for weekends only.

    Wine, Dine, and WiFi

An added bonus: the new Bedford Playhouse will have a café serving three light meals a day complete with a full bar and…drumroll, Wi-Fi! The full opening of the facility--including the cafe, is expected later this year.

    Parking

While the town works on its plans for a new lot on Court Road, the Bedford Playhouse will be adding more than 30 new spots behind its building. This is great news for Playhouse guests, Bedford Village businesses, and visitors from all over.

    Take a Seat!

Add your family or company’s name to a seat at the Playhouse by sponsoring a comfy rocker or recliner. Leave your mark—or better yet, honor someone special, by underwriting a chair in his or her name.
